Lorraine Marie Robertson, 88, of Central City, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, with a Scripture service beginning at 4 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. John's Catholic Church, Coggon. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her children, Terry (Karen) Robertson of Central City, Denise (Jimmy) Frank of Urbana and Dean (LuAnn) Robertson of Shell Rock; her grandchildren, Amy Robertson, Shane (Cindy) Robertson, Holly (James) FitzGerald, Angela (Todd) Harrington, Kimberly (Scott) Beall, Andrea (Wesley) Knaack, Bryan (Ashley) Robertson and Jeff Frank; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris (Don) Schminke of Austin, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; grandson, Jamie Frank; brothers, Kenny, J.C. and Raymond Coleman; and sister, Bea Brost.
Lorraine was born June 1, 1927, in rural Coggon, Iowa, to Harry and Josephine (Clark) Coleman. After graduating from high school, she began her career at Quaker Oats. She then married Roger Lee Robertson on Jan. 25, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. Lorraine worked alongside Roger working on their farm until they retired in 1989.
Lorraine was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Coggon and loved playing cards in Coggon at the old school building.
