Lorraine June Larsen was born October 16, 1946, the daughter of W. Raymond and Irma (Crump) Riddell in Moline, Illinois, and died June 5, 2025, in Iowa City, Iowa.
She attended Black Hawk College and Augustana College.
In 1970 Lorraine married Max Ellyson who died in 1993. She married Philip Brammer in 1995 who died in 1999.
In 2000 Lorraine married Craig G. Larsen, enjoying many years of fishing, camping, traveling, and spending summers at their home in Minnesota.
She also enjoyed knitting winter hats for children, throwing parties for family and friends, word games and cribbage.
Her rhubarb pie was the best! Lorraine worked at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for 28 years in the business office, taking pride in solving difficult billing problems and helping fellow workers, especially students.
Lorraine had a great blend of humor, kindness, and generosity. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Schmits, her daughter Ann Ellyson, grand-daughter Sophie Meader, stepdaughter Becky Barkalow and her first two husbands.
Lorraine is survived by her sister Shirley Flemming, husband Craig, stepsons Mark and Gary, with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Cedar Rapids area. Honorary attendants will include grandchildren Alexis, Collin, Tammy, Karen, Drake and Hunter.
