Lorraine J. Fowler, 90, a resident of Northbrook Manor died there on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, after a long illness. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivor include three daughters, Jorja Chmelicek, Kathleen (Ray) Pena and Paula Baker, all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kris Dekko, Kari Kelly, Brooke Gager, Page Harford and Stacie Clark; nine great-grandchildren Ryan, Meghan, McKenzie, Cole, Chase, Kasey, Carly, Kenadee and Adam; and two nephews, Dan and Joe Dalziel.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; a brother, Jack Dalziel; a grandson, Casey Stieger; and two sons-in-law, Mike Stieger and Jack Baker.
Lorraine was born on Sept. 3, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Inno Yates Dalziel. She married Ralph G. Ballou on June 1, 1944, in Boise, Idaho. Ralph was killed in World War II in December 1944. She later married Robert D. Fowler on Feb. 4, 1947, in Iowa City. Robert passed away in 1969.
Lorraine worked at Square D and retired from there in 1987 after more than 31 years of service.
Lorraine enjoyed her home, flowers, shopping, going out to eat and especially the time spent with her friends and beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
