Lorraine E. Corniea, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2015, at The Woodlands at The Meth-Wick Community. A private celebration of her life will be held. Arrange-ments are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (Howard) Bruner of Cedar Rapids and Melanie Jene Williams of Peoria, Ariz.; son, Thomas Jay Corniea of Peoria, Ariz.; sisters, Marian Qualley of Ridgeway and Elaine Harrington of Traverse City, Mich.; five grandchildren, Dan (Tammy) Prohaska and Bryan Bruner, both of Cedar Rapids, Alexa Williams, Jordan Williams and Tommy Corniea, all of Peoria, Ariz.; and five great- grandchildren, Damien, Alyssa, Dakota, Lexi and Dylan.
Lorraine was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Albertson) Dahle. On June 24, 1951, she married Thomas Pierre Corniea in Decorah. Lorraine worked in the adult probation office for the Sixth Judicial District before moving to Arizona. While in Arizona she was an administrative assistant for the city of Glendale, retiring in 1995. She moved back to Iowa in 2009, residing at Meth-Wick.
Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and her monthly Bunco club. She also loved golf and lots of shopping!
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
