Lorraine M. Anderson, 92, of Cashton, Wis., form-erly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at her home in Cashton. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, at All Saints Catholic Church, with the Rev. John R. Flaherty officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a vigil starting at 4 p.m. There will also be visitation after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial: St. John Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Earl N. Anderson; her son, Larry (Lisa) of Cashton, Wis.; her grandchildren, Samuel, Gabrielle, Levi (Samantha), Anna (Neil Glanzer) Michael, Abel and Ian; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Briana, Galileia, Asher and Quinn; and her sister-in-law, Genece Quinn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Quinn; and her brother, Freeman Quinn, all from South Dakota; and her grandson, Timothy Anderson.
Lorraine was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Yankton, S.D. She married Earl Anderson on July 19, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School in South Dakota and NBT Business College in Sioux City. She was employed by the American Optical Co. during World War II while her husband was serving in the Army. She retired from the Harnischfeger Corp. personnel department in 1982.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the All Saints Resurrection Choir and the All Saints Prayer Group.
Lorraine and Earl's retirement years were enriched by the many friends they made while traveling and camping. Lorraine dearly enjoyed giving to all of her family and remembering a long list of friends with birthday and holiday greeting cards. Her son, Larry, his wife, Lisa, and all grandchildren were her pride and joy.
