It is with a heavy heart to announce Lori Evers Hardy, 54, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Coggon, has passed away in her home unexpectedly. She was born March 13, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Bernard and Maxine Evers. She departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2016.
Although Lori was born and raised in lowa, she spent most of her adult life in Louisiana. About 18 years ago, Lori and her husband, Frederick, moved to Colorado to fulfill some of their lifelong dreams. Even with her health problems, she helped everyone that she knew. She would make blankets for the homeless and things for her children and grandchildren.
To carry on her legacy are husband, Frederick Hardy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; parents, Bernard and Maxine Evers of Coggon; two brothers, Gary Evers (Darlene) of Lake Charles, La., and Harry Evers (Karen) of Walker; one sister, Gail Blackburn (Randy) of Colorado Springs; daughter, Sarah Aguero (Emest) of Mesquite, Texas; three stepdaughters, LaTasha Hardy of Gonzales, Texas, LaTonya Hardy of San Antonio, Texas, and LaToya Hardy of New Orleans; as well as nine beautiful grandchildren.
Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Combre Funeral Home, 1200 Mill St., Lake Charles, LA 70601. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at St. John Bosco Church, 1301 Sampson St., Westlake, LA 70669. Graveside will immediately follow.
