Loretta Ann Graham, 88, of Marion, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Northbrook Manor Care Center following a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jerry Doellinger. Burial: St. Stephen Lutheran Cemetery, Atkins. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids and Monday after noon at the church.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Stephen H. (Marilyn) of Frankfort, Ill., and Kenneth L. (Norma) of Holiday, Fla.; daughter, Beth (John) Madland of Marion; grandchildren, Beth Penn, Michelle (Justin) Lange, David (Kimberly) Graham, Patrick (Jessica) Graham, Anita Graham and Jeff and Christopher Madland; five great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Camden Lange, Noah Penn and Gavin and Sarah Graham; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; three brothers, Wilbert, George and Louis Gerhold; and two sisters, Elva Gerhold and Marie DeKoltz.
Loretta was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Atkins, the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Rinderknecht Gerhold. She graduated from Atkins High School in 1943. Loretta was united in marriage to Bernard Graham on Nov. 16, 1949, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins. Bernard died in 2013. In addition to caring for her family, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Kieck's until her retirement in 1983.
Loretta was a charter member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Loretta was a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching football, basketball and CNBC, as well as traveling and camping with her family.
Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or a charity of your choice.
