Lorenz, Lorraine J.

Lorraine J. Lorenz, 85, of Dysart, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born June 26, 1925, in Keystone, daughter of Ewald and Leila Henningsen Buch. She married Russell Lorenz Sept. 15, 1943, in Keystone. He died in 2007.

Lorraine was a Licensed Practical Nurse with Covenant Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include four daughters, Lana Faye (Dwayne) Luze of Dysart, Dolores Ann (Darwin) Steinford of Keystone, Loretta Kay (Gary) Simnacher of Vinton, and Nancy Sue (Denny) Albert of Brandon; a son, Larry Russell (Connie) Lorenz of Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); three great-great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and two sisters, Joan Homire of Marengo, and Jane (Lyle) Musel of Thousand Oaks, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewald and Leila Buch; her husband, Russell Lorenz; and a brother, Donald Buch.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church with inurnment in the Keystone Cemetery, Keystone. Visitation will be for one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
