Lorene M. St. John, 97, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at The Meth-Wick Community.
Lorene was born May 20, l917, in Allison, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Alma Prange. Lorene lived most of her life in the Waterloo area, moving to Meth-Wick in November 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Clifton and Harlan (and two infant brothers); a son-in-law, Gary Durnil; and grandson, William Durnil.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Durnil (Rockton, Ill.); four sons, Donald (Ginger, Plymouth, Minn.), Richard (Jean, Sonora, Calif.), Duane (Deb, Cedar Rapids) and Steven (Jan, Rockville, Md.); a sister-in-law, Darline Prange, Ames; and former daughter-in-law, Judie St. John. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Lorene will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 361 17th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, with a luncheon immediately following. Family inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to The Meth-Wick Community.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Meth-Wick family and staff for all the love and attention they have provided to our mother. They also wish to thank Hospice of Mercy.
