Lorena Gray, 92, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Mechanicsville Care Center. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Lisbon Cemetery. Pastor Barb Krueger will officiate at the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Surviving are her husband of 72 years, James; two children, Verlyn (Gerald) Stolte, Anamosa, and Roger (Rita Knutsen) Gray, Swisher; a son-in-law, John Krob, Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Virginia Krob in August 2013, a great-grandson, Dedrick Gray; a brother, Harry; and two sisters, Luella Conner and LaVerna Sieveka.
Lorena Mae Dorcas was born May 30, 1921, near Lisbon, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Cora Mae Andre Dorcas. She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1939. Lorena married James Gray on Aug. 20, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. The couple farmed near Mechanicsville until 1985, when they moved into town.
In retirement, Lorena and Jim traveled, taking several cruises and bus trips. She also belonged to the Country Clubbers and the Paint n' Palette Club.
