Omaha, Neb.
Loren C. Skogman, 87, of Omaha, Neb., was born July 27, 1927, in Omaha and died Dec. 13, 2014.
Surviving are a sister, Evelyn Skogman Keith of California; daughter, Kimberly (David) Skogman
Sudduth of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Christo-pher, Matthew and Tiffany; son, Brian (Valerie) Conrad Skogman; grandchildren, Alexander and Whitney; loving wife of 23 years, Norma Fox Skogman; stepchildren, Wanda (Randy) Taylor and Patrick (Cindy) Fox; and stepgrandchildren, Nicholas and Randi Lee Taylor, Brandon and Ashley Fox.
Loren was the son of Swedish immigrants to Omaha, Thure Conrad Skogman and Alice Feldt. The Skogman family built single-family homes, many duplexes and multifamily apartments in Omaha before the crash of 1929. Loren's uncle, Erick Skogman, continued building afterward in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Skogman Homes and Skogman Realty is still in business today.
Loren served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A retired sergeant with the Omaha police force, he will be posthumously honored May 15 at the Peace Officers Memorial Day service in Omaha.
Loren loved to sing. He will be remembered in memoriam on All Saints Day, Nov. 1, by the Carpe Diem Vocal Ensemble of the Twin Cities, directed by Clark Duhrkopf. Loren's daughter, Kimberly, is a member of the ensemble. They will perform Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest.
