Loren "Louie" Anthony Frey, 66, of Robins, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Rich Lacey. The family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Wednesday. Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Russell Cemetery, Decorah, with military honors by VFW Post 1977 and American Legion Post 163.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter,
Michelle (Eric) Kline; four granddaughters, Olivia, Ava, Ella and Lexi; brothers, Darrell (Mavis) Frey of Decorah and Mick (Diann) Frey of Decorah; sisters-in-law, Beverly Full and Marlys Larson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James.
Louie was born Feb. 26, 1947, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Lester and Madeline (Stortz) Frey. He married Donna Larson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on April 18, 1970.
Louie was a supervisor at Cedar Rapids Inc. for 36 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #735 of Hiawatha. Louie enjoyed playing golf and euchre and was an avid Packers and Hawkeyes fan. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Louie's
memory.
