Loreen “Lori” E. Hanson, 62, of Midway, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, Cedar Rapids. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Loreen Ellen was born Aug. 12, 1960, in Iowa City, the daughter of Joseph William and Patricia Wilhelmina (Fuhrmeister) Driscoll. She graduated from Kennedy High School. She worked at First Trust and Savings Bank and as an aid at Mercy Hospital before she married and started her family. Lori was married to Richard Hanson on Oct. 21, 1988, in Cedar Rapids at Immaculate Conception. She enjoyed travelling, biking, baking and quilting.
Lori is survived by her husband, Rick; her children, Troy (Kristi) Hanson and Kayla (Stephen) Gaston; grandchildren, Regan and Addison Gaston; siblings, Jerry (Marilyn Hekel) Driscoll, Steven (Patricia) Driscoll, Anthony (Julee) Driscoll, Doreen (Pat) Shellady and Joseph W. Driscoll Jr.; aunt, Sandra Fuhrmeister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shelley Driscoll; brother-in-law, Scott Goslin; sisters-in-law, Janelle Driscoll and Luann Driscoll; and grandchildren, William, Kameron and Blair Hanson.
