LORAS J. SCHLICHTE
Manchester
Loras J. Schlichte, 76, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, surrounded by his family at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Schlichte of Manchester; four children, Deanna (Jon) Palmersheim of Ankeny, Mike (Christine) Schlichte of Wausau, Wis., John (Kim) Schlichte of Melbourne and Kay (Ryan) Roppe of Olathe, Kan.; 12 grandchildren who proudly called him Papa; and he was Great-Papa to four great-grandchildren, with one on the way. He also is survived by four siblings, Betty (Gene) Vaske of Manchester, Shirley (Will) Miers of Cedar Rapids, Leon (Deb) Schlichte of Manchester and Dave (Rae Marie) Schlichte of Waterloo.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating.
Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends also may call on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service, at which time there will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary.
Interment: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Masonville, Iowa.
