LORAS JOSEPH "DOC" HECK

Loras Joseph "Doc" Heck, age 94, of Elkader, Iowa, formerly of Garnavillo, Iowa, and Bensenville, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at the Central Community Hospital in Elkader. He was born on Oct. 14, 1923, in Garber, Iowa, the son of George and Teresa (Burr) Heck.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943 to 1945. On Aug. 9, 1947, Doc was united in marriage with H. Arlene Hanson in St. Louis, Mo.
Those left to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, H. Arlene; sister, Lolita Junk; and two brothers, John and George Heck.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 1 S. Industrial Park Rd., Garnavillo, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader, Iowa, with the Rev. John Haugen officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb., 6, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader, Iowa. Interment will be at Marion Lutheran Cemetery, Gunder, Iowa, with Pastor Marshall Hahn presiding.
