Loomis, Mary Lucille
Mary Lucille Loomis, 86, of Monticello, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 20, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Keith Birch will officiate.
Lucille was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Parkston, S.D., the daughter of Gregor and Dora (Fritza) Haag. She married Robert Loomis on Nov. 24, 1971, in Monticello, Iowa. Lucille was the receptionist at Cuckler Manufacturing for 24 years until retiring in 1986. Lucille and Bob were avid antiques collectors and were instrumental in organizing and promoting the Antique Show in Monticello for 41 years.
She is survived by two brothers, Virgil (Lorraine) Haag of Monticello and Gregory (Claretta) Haag Jr. of New Orleans; two sisters-in-law, Germaine Haag and Kathryn Haag, both of Monticello; a brother-in-law, James Loomis of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; three brothers, Vic Haag, Vincent Haag and Roman Haag; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Haag.
It is preferred that memorials be directed to Above and Beyond Hospice.
