Long, Freda L.
Freda L. Long, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Brad Brown. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Steve) French of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Diane Long of Cedar Rapids; son-in-law, Dean Hanson of Eagle Grove; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosemary (Curt) Conner and Francis (Rita) Kingery, both of Omaha; and sister-in-law, Edith Beck of Columbus, Ohio.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband, Del; and her children, Scott and Tonya.
Born July 5, 1935, in Mount Etna, Iowa, Freda was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Richmond) Kingery. On Sept. 20, 1953, Freda was united in marriage to Darwin “Del” Long in Corning, Iowa. He died Oct. 22, 2011. Freda worked at the Linn County Courthouse and Long's Repair for many years.
Freda was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
