Loney, Judith K.
Judith K. Loney, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Marion Christian Church. The Rev. Peter Mitchell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Due to ongoing construction, it is required that visitors to Cedar Memorial enter making a right turn from west bound First Avenue (heading toward downtown).
Surviving are her children, William Loney and wife Veronica of Vinton, Kimberly Mills and husband Jason of Springfield, Va., and Kelly Loney of Tucson, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Amyjo, Caitlin, Destiny, BreAnna, Terra, Dylan, Brisa and Brenton; and her brothers, Richard Leliefeld and wife Mary of Wheaton, Ill., and Norman Leliefeld and wife Laurie of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, D.J. Loney.
Judith Kaye Loney was born Jan. 2, 1949, in Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Norman J. and Lois L. (Harbaugh) Leliefeld. She was employed at Iowa Health Physicians in the office for several years. Judy was a member of Marion Christian Church for the last 10 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Judy's honor are made to a charity benefiting cancer research.
