Lola Marie Hofmaster, 74, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at
Heritage Nursing and Rehab from a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Celebration gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
Lola was born Dec. 5, 1939, in Walford, the daughter of Edward and Wilma (Schulte) Houser. She was united in marriage to Robert Hofmaster for over 23 years. Lola worked at both Fairfax Grain and Younkers for over 20 years.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Lola is survived by her daughters, Julie (Curt) Wille of Fairfax and Kariann (Rob) Fiser of Marion; her sons, Doug (Kim) Hofmaster of Marion and Greg (Dawn) Hofmaster of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Marvin (Bev) Houser of Walford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Houser; and her sister, Deena (Jerry) Lewis.
