Lakeway, Texas
With heavy hearts but joyful spirits, we announce the passing into eternity of Lois Miner, beloved wife, mother, nurse, and pillar of her community and her church, on February 3, 2024 in Austin, Texas. Lois was born August 22, 1931, the fourth of five children to William and Clara Bray on a farm in Farley, Iowa, grew up in Cedar Rapids, and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and later from Texas State University. She married Richard (Dick) Miner and they recently celebrated their 71st anniversary. They lived in many places in the country but spent the last decades in Texas.
She will be deeply missed by Dick and their five children - Thom, Denise (Floyd), Lori, Carol (Frank), and MaryAnne (Jim). Known to her seven grandchildren as their beloved “Mia,” she leaves a legacy of nine great-grandchildren, extended family, and a community that was touched by her generosity and spirit.
Her funeral and burial were with Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway, TX on February 9.
The family requests any donations be sent to Connect Camp for Adults with Dementia, 1303 Russell Bend Rd Weatherford, TX 76088 or online at www.connectcamp.org/make-a-donation.
