LOIS MARIE CORNTHWAITE (VANOURNEY)

Lois Marie Cornthwaite (Vanourney), 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at her home.
Lois was born, April 11, 1947, to Leo and Helen Vanourney. She married Gary L. Cornthwaite in 1964 resided in Mount Vernon, Iowa. They had four children, later divorced. After working various jobs in the custodian and green house industry she recently retired.
Survivors include her children, Rob (Kim) Cornthwaite, Kathy (Todd) Lange, Joe (Sheila) Cornthwaite and Angela (Tom) Klostermann; eight grandchildren, Tom Jr. Chittenden, Calden and Sidney Lange, Spencer, Kohlman, Patrick Klinge, and Haley and Mason Cornthwaite; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Loreta) Vanourney, Richard (Karen) Vanourney and Frank Vanourney; sisters, Dorothy Crilley, Betty Supple and Katie (Gary) Gadient; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Vanourney; brother, Leo Vanourney; and sister, Leon Waters.
Lois enjoyed spending time at the ocean in Florida, crafts, gardening, mushroom hunting and crocheting. Lois was often known for her green thumb and decorating abilities.
Per Lois' request, no public services will be held. A private immediate family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
