LOIS J. LOVELETT
Cedar Rapids
Lois J. Lovelett, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Westridge Care Center. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Ivan Nienhaus presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Lois was born March 12, 1933, in Norway, the daughter of Clarence and Regina (Ockenfels) Meskimen. She worked for many years at Rockwell Collins, from where she retired in 1990. Lois enjoyed bowling, crafting, sewing and most of all spending time with her family.
Lois is survived by her children, John (Sandy) Neiderhiser of Ames, Ralph Neiderhiser of Clinton, Jim (Nicki) Neiderhiser and Nancy (Jerry) Allen, both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Aaron Neiderhiser, Douglas Allen, Haley Neiderhiser and April Allen; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Reagan; two brothers, Regis Meskimen of Swisher and Orville (Donna) Meskimen of Ely; two sisters, Madonna (Sonny) Hartl and Shirley (Paul) Vislisel, both of Bertram; a sister-in-law, Erma Meskimen of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Lovelett; two sisters, Ethel (Deb) Debler and Laverne (Marvin) Dostal; two brothers, Clarence (Dolly) Meskimen and Vince Meskimen; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Meskimen.
The family would like to express thanks to Westridge Care Center and Hospice of Mercy for the loving care they provided Lois.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in her name.
