Mrs. Lois Lilienthal, 89, died peacefully Oct. 29, 2014, in the hospice unit at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services for Lois will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at St. John's United Church of
Christ in Clarence. Visitation will be two hours before her funeral from 1 to 3 p.m., also at St. John's United Church of Christ. Light refreshments and fellowship will take place just before graveside services at Inland Cemetery in Bennett.
The daughter of Albert and Alice Hein Levien, she was born in Dixon, Iowa, on Oct. 27, 1925. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1943.
She taught school in Scott County. She married Eldon Lilienthal on June 1, 1946. They lived in West Liberty before moving to Tipton in 1960.
She is survived by her two sons, Leon of Clarence and Lynn (Pat) of Tipton; daughter-in-law, Teresa (wife of deceased son, Loren); six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; son, Loren; sister, Verda Regenitter; and brothers, Eldon and Norman Levien.
She was a member of St. John's UCC in Clarence and King's Daughter and Sons of Tipton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tipton Ambulance Service and/or Camp Courageous.
