LOIS IRENE JOHNSON
Manchester
Lois Irene Johnson, 93, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Marietta's Place at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. She was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Edgewood, to Elmer and Nellie (Adams) Sherman. She attended Clayton County Lodomillo #1 Grade School and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1942.
On Feb. 27, 1946, Lois was united in marriage to Robert Johnson at First Lutheran Church in Manchester. Five children were born to this union. The couple farmed northeast of Dundee. Bob and Lois retired in 1988 and moved to Manchester.
Lois was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Manchester. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Bob of Manchester; her five children, Art (Jackie) Johnson of Edgewood, Carl (Jeanine) Johnson of Wellman, Karen (Ray) Thomas of Bothell, Wash., Lynn (Cathy) Johnson of Cedar Rapids and Roger (Michele) Johnson of Pleasant Hill; 10 grandchildren, Joel Thomas, Seth Thomas, Sara Johnson, Annie-Lie Johnson, Misty (Kurt) Kaeser, Adrian Johnson, Kristen (Scott) Arthur, Bethany Johnson, Bryan Johnson and Robert Johnson II; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Duane (Joan) Sherman of Manchester.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Keith Sherman; and her sister, Elsie Dunlap.
In lieu of flowers, the Johnson family requests that memorials be directed to the Good Neighbor Home or First Lutheran Church.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Manchester, with Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating.
Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. Friends also may call one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
Interment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
Pallbearers: Grandchildren.
