Lois M. Jenn, 79, of Iowa City, joined her parents in the heavenly hereafter Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Mercy Iowa City hospice care unit after a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hills.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, masses, St. Stanislaus Cemetery or Iowa City Hospice.
Lois was born April 27, 1936, west of Hills, Iowa, the daughter of Clemens A. and Bernice L. (Frantz) Jenn. She was delivered in the same rural house and bedroom as her mother and sister with the same doctor. In 1943, the family moved to Iowa City, where she graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1954.
Lois was a loan clerk for 42 years for Iowa State Bank and Trust, retiring in 1996. After retirement she worked part time for ACT Registration until 2009.
Lois was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society where she assisted with many funeral luncheons held at the church. She was a member of Midwest Friendship Club and Hills Bank Friends Club. Lois loved to travel and took 84 trips to various countries and around the United States.
Lois is survived by her two siblings, Marlene (Tom) Potter of Leonardtown, Md., and Melvin (Marcia) Jenn of Iowa City; five nieces and nephews, Benny (Virginia) Potter of Bonita Springs, Fla., Jerry (Andrea) Potter of Mechanicsville, Md., Tommy Potter of Hollywood, Md., Kevin (Lynn) Jenn of Lakeville, Minn., and Melissa (Sam) McDonald of Rosemont, Minn.; eight great-nieces and nephews, Stefanie (Rick) Nueslein, Jackson and Nicholas Potter, Kailey and Nicole Jenn and Mason, Sydney and Shayla McDonald.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and an infant niece, Tina Jenn.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Courtney Green, director of nursing, and all of the staff at Legacy Point, Iowa City Hospice and Mercy Hospice of Iowa City and staff for their loving, friendly and compassionate care of Lois.
