Lois Irene (Young) Feickert, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Corridor Crossing Place under hospice care, where she had resided for the last year.
Lois was born on March 24, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, to Clarence James and Olive Marie (Smith) Young. On Sept. 12, 1954, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Feickert in Cedar Rapids. She loved family, often attending and organizing reunions for her and Wil’s families. During retirement, Lois and Wilbert joined a camping club and spent time enjoying the outdoors, visiting relatives and traveling throughout the United States.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Feickert; son, James (Shirley) Feickert; a grandson, Joshua; and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Olive Young; infant child Lance McMurrin; siblings, Ron, Judy, Keith and Loretta, as well as mother and father-in-law, Jacob and Selma Feickert; and many brothers, sisters and in-laws.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Park Home, where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
