Lois Eleanor Dodge, 91, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, surrounded by her family at Mechanicsville Specialty Care. There will be no visitation, per her request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation of Cedar Rapids is serving the family.
Lois Eleanor Boots was born on Dec. 12, 1926, in Mechanicsville, Iowa, to Rose Ellen Haynor Boots and Clarence Boots. She was united in marriage to Homer Dodge on Dec. 6, 1946.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Rita Zerbe (Alan) of Mechanicsville and Diane Berry (David) of Clarence. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Suzy Cummins (Jon), Kim Chapman, Shannon Paup (Glen), Lance Zerbe (Jennie), Kristen Berry (David Johnson) and Megan Berry; and seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Cummins and Hannah Cummins, Jenna Chapman, Autumn Gott, Kayla Paup, Madelynn Zerbe and Breklynn Zerbe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Dodge; parents, Rose Ellen Boots and Clarence Boots; one sister, Frances Joslin; and four brothers, Wilbur Boots, Bob Boots, Don Boots and Ronald Boots.
A special thanks goes to the wonderful staff at Mechanicsville Specialty Care for the loving care given to our dear mother and grandmother during her final months.
