Loertscher, Herbert Rudolph
Herbert Rudolph Loertscher, 94, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 15, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. The Rev. Barb Krueger will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Green Center Cemetery in rural Morley.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia; son, Ken (Pam) of Carmel, Ind.; special family friend, Julie Draeger of Marion; a sister, Mildred Heinz of Medford, Wis.; two brothers, Leonard (June) of Janesville, Wis., and Harold (Helen) of Woodstock, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Jamie Draeger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Craig in June 1999; a sister, Alma Loertscher; and three brothers, Ben, Ed and Bill Loertscher.
Herbert was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Medford, Wis., the son of Herman and Lena Loertscher. On Oct. 8, 1942, Herbert and Lydia Paur were united in marriage in Wisconsin. Herbert farmed most of his life along with selling agricultural products.
He enjoyed fishing and was an avid baseball fan, but the thing he treasured most was the time he got to spend with his family.
He will be dearly missed by those closest to him.
