Loeffers, Peggy Jean (Carnahan)
Peggy Jean (Carnahan) Loeffers, 63, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at her home. Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Chaplain Jeremy Hudson. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Bill of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Barb Scott; two daughters, Jean (Kevin) Van Dee of Fairfax and Jennifer (Adam) Meyer of Marion; and three grandchildren, Arianna Ault, Kylian Loeffers and Olivia Meyer. Also surviving are two brothers, Joe (Linda) Bouma of Nokomis, Fla., and Jim Carnahan of Davenport; and three sisters, Kathy (Bob) Skeffington of Davenport, Jane (Kent) Vogt of Fulton, Ill., and Mary (Al) Namer of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Carnahan; a daughter, Joan Loeffers; a grandson, Kristian Loeffers; and a great-grandson, Brayden Murray.
Peggy was born Dec. 19, 1949, the daughter of Jim and Barb (Harrington) Carnahan in Dewitt. On Dec. 4, 1971, she married Bill Loeffers in Dewitt. Peggy earned her BSN at College of St. Francis. She worked at Mercy Medical Center for 35 years and most recently St. Luke's Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Hospital Foundation in honor of Peggy Loeffers Guardian Angel Award.
