Lnenicka, James 'Jim'
James “Jim” Lnenicka, 34, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in Bristolville, Ohio. A service will be held in Ohio on Friday, and in Cedar Rapids at a date yet to be announced.
Jim was born July 8, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, and is survived by his parents, father, Chuck Lnenicka (wife, Sandy) and mother, Collette Cooper Lnenicka (Dave Johnson), all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by his sisters, Suzanne Lnenicka of Cedar Rapids, Laura Lnenicka Blinks of Lisbon, and his daughter, Prestley Lake Kristjanson (mother, Julie Kristjanson) of Cedar Rapids.
Jim worked hard all his life. He grew up helping his dad with the farm, riding dirtbikes, hunting deer and raccoon, and especially loved to fish the Cedar for catfish. Missing only a few credits, he went back to school and earned his GED. He worked for PMX Industries in Cedar Rapids as a rolling/steel mill operator, and at Denny's Muffler as a mechanic for many years.
In his twenties, he took up skydiving for a while. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, gardening, hunting morels (houbys), cooking, working on and modifying cars and motorcycles, snowmobiling, shooting pool, traveling, enjoying ethnic food, and spending time with his daughter and his many friends.
Jim's second family was in Bristolville, where he stayed close to his longtime best friend, Brian Campbell, and his wife, Lisa, and son, Jason; and Brian's father, Terry Campbell and their extended family.
Jim was a very giving, kindhearted soul who loved animals, in particular his two dogs, “Woman” and “Girl.” Jim had many, many friends and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established for his daughter in the name of “Suzanne Lnenicka FBO Prestley Kristjanson”: P.O. Box 33, Hiawatha, IA 52233.
