Lloyd M. Martens, 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 4, 2025. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alice; sons, Rod (Mandy) and Charles (Nancy), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith Martens; siblings, Donald (Leatha) Martens, Alma (Don) Yates, Hila (Delbert) Dean, LaVerne (Patricia) Martens; and son, Randal “Randy” (Viola) Martens.
Lloyd graduated from Maynard High School in 1953 and went on to serve six years in the Army Reserves. He built a long and dedicated career at Cherry Burrell, which later became Evergreen Packaging, and eventually retired from International Paper. Lloyd was a proud member of UAW Local 1024.
Outside of work, Lloyd enjoyed woodworking and found great fulfillment in being a Scout leader while his sons were young. He continued to support Scouting by helping Rod when he became a leader himself.
