Lloyd Lee Banks, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday Sept. 12, 2022, in his home from a short illness. Services: Private. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Banks; his children, Julie (Scott) Elliott of South Dakota, Robert Banks of Pensacola, Fla., and Kevin Banks of Brighton, Ill.; his siblings, Cleo Banks and Stanley Banks, both of Cedar Rapids and Paula Shoop of Indiana. Also surviving are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Banks; and a sister, Mary Lou McQuown.
Lloyd was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Pawhuska, Okla., the son of Cleo and Lorene (Griffith) Banks. He married Janet May in Cedar Rapids and later divorced. He then met Donna Prucha and they were married later in Cedar Rapids. Lloyd was a carman for the Rock Island Railroad and later a part-time truck driver. He had a great love for horses and dogs. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
