Bud was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Hilleshiem Sr.; both grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Lloyd Joseph was born May 8, 1951, in Iowa City, the son of Lloyd Joseph and Shirley Mae Hilleshiem-Wiggins. Bud married his high school sweetheart, Debra Kay Smith on June 26, 1971, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and was happily married for 42 years. He had the great honor of working at Worley Warehousing as the operations manager for 34 years, retiring in 2014. He had a great respect for the Worley's and enjoyed working with them. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed duck and deer hunting and fishing. He had a great passion for Wildlife Incorporated, aka "The Swamp," which is a wetland preservation paradise where he found peace and serenity.
He was the past president of the Blue Creek Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the Palo Jaycees and was involved with the Especially for You Race Against Breast Cancer year after year. Bud had a deep rooted Lutheran faith that was important to him until the very end. He will be remembered as a loving husband, an amazing father, a loyal son and a great friend to many.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and staff at Physicians Clinic of Iowa Oncology (PCI) for their kind and compassionate care to Bud over the last 17 months.
