Lisa Parsons, 50, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 to
7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Lisa's wishes are for those attending to please wear pink or flip-flops (or both!) to honor her.
Lisa was born Aug. 10, 1971, in Monticello, Iowa, to Donna (Don) Mesch. She graduated from Kennedy High School of Cedar Rapids in 1989. She married Sean Parsons in 1991 and from that union had a son, Zach. Lisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She especially loved being with her granddaughter, Piper. Lisa also had a love of traveling. She enjoyed trips to Mexico, Iceland, Hawaii and countless others. She loved to collect flip flop magnets and charms from her travels.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Donna Mesch; her son, Zach (Liz) Parsons; her brothers, Terry Delay (Christine Lietz) and Rod (Shela) Delay; her granddaughter, Piper; and nephews, Dalton, Cameron, James and Kyle. She is also survived by her long-time best friend, Lori Bozanek; and her in-laws and friends, Martha Parsons and Craig Schulte, Sean (Stephanie) Parsons, Marianne (Glenn) Guenther and Jessica Kemmis.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Don Mesch.
Lisa wants to thank everyone for their support during her battle with cancer. Thank you for the excellent care she received from The University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
