LISA M. LALA

Lisa M. Lala, 58, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at First Christian Church, Center Point. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Lisa was born Jan. 28, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Freddie and C.R. "Sandy" (Chismore) Hunter. She graduated from Center Point High School in 1978 and attended Kirkwood Community College and Coe College. Lisa married Mike Lala at Noelridge Christian Church on June 25, 1978. Through the years, she worked at Rockwell Collins, Center Point Methodist Church, Center Point Casey's store, McLeod USA, MCI, GE Capital and currently Wells Fargo. Lisa helped her husband, Mike, with the family farming and loved the time she would spend with her family. She enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, playing community sports and gardening. She was also a member of the Center Point Jaycees and Farm Bureau.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Lala; children, Michelle Lala and Michael Lala, all of Vinton; grandchildren, Logan, Emily and Addison; siblings, Freida (Dale) Aldrich of Palo, Randy (Sheila) Hunter of Mount Pleasant and Darryl (RoseMarie) Hunter of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Caroline Lala of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Mark (Sandy) Lala of Center Point; sister-in-law, Collene Lala of Cedar Rapids; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and special friends, John and Amy Hromidko, Chris and Greg Moser, Jeff Erger, Cindy Bowers and Joe Lodel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Sandy Hunter, and father-in-law, Gene Lala.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
