Lisa M. Dekowski, 46, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, May 2, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a long battle with cystic fibrosis.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, at First Assembly of God Church, 3233 Blairs Ferry Rd. NW. Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends at a visitation Sunday, May 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the church in Cedar Rapids. There also will be a visitation Tuesday, May 10, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will follow at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City at 3 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids.

The daughter of Larry P. and Carole J. (Danks) Miller, Lisa was born Sept. 14, 1969, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1987. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and her master's degree in education from the University of Iowa. Lisa taught in the Vinton-Shellsburg School District, retiring for health reasons a year ago.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids, Pi Lambda Theta and Vinton-Shellsburg Education Association, where she served as treasurer, the Iowa State and National Education associations and also was active in the Shellsburg PTO.
Those left to honor her memory include her mother, Carole, of Otley, Iowa; a sister, Jennifer Stevenson of Monroe; a niece, Charlotte; and a nephew, Levi; as well as her many relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents and father, Larry Miller.
