Lint Sr., Billie L.
Billie L. Lint Sr., 77, of Mount Auburn, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with Pastor Dale Lint officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville.
Billie was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Benton City, Iowa, near Shellsburg, the son of Wilmer D. and Theresa Seiler Lint. He attended school in Shellsburg and received his GED from Kirkwood Community College. Billie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956.
On April 3, 1979, Billie was united in marriage with Nancy Osborn Ruzicka in Cedar Rapids. Billie and his wife were loving foster parents for over 25 years. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2007.
Billie worked as a forklift operator at Weyerhaeuser in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1996. Billie was a school bus driver from 1995 until 2011, driving for Alburnett, Charles City and Vinton-Shellsburg schools.
He was a past member of the Alburnett Lions Club.
Billie is survived by three sons, Billie Lint Jr. of Cedar Rapids, James Lint of Mount Auburn and Joseph (Gail) Ruzicka of Waterloo; two daughters, Jamie Pierson of Cedar Rapids and Klancy (Rod) Reid of Shellsburg; two brothers, John (Judy) Lint of Pella and Dale (Bobby) Lint of George, Iowa; brother-in-law, John (Mary Ann) Osborn of Greene; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; and one son, Ricky Jay Pascual.
A memorial fund has been established.
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Billie and his family.
