Lindsey Sr., Michael W.
Michael W. Lindsey Sr., 61, of 208 Main St., Palo, died at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids by Pastor John Howterton. Burial: Palo Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mike is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Tina (Dave) Whiteaker, and their children, Robbie, Charlie, David and Britany, of Wayland, Mo.; a son, Michael Lindsey Jr., and his children, Ashley, Mikey and Nicky, of Denmark, Iowa; a brother, Randy Lindsey; nieces, Melissa and Sandy; and nephew, Jacob, all of Marion. He also leaves behind his very much loved kids, Ginger, Maggie, Molly and Rose.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and stepson, Scott Hanover.
Mike was born April 6, 1948, in Monticello, the son of Ralph and Irene Peck Lindsey. He was raised in Springville and graduated from Springville High School in 1966. He was employed at Highway Equipment Co. for over 25 years. Before that he worked at Collins, Barnard and Lee's and Iowa Steel. Mike and his wife Diana got together in 1985 and were married in May 1989. He was an extremely skilled woodworker and carpenter. He could build anything Dee dreamed up. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mike was a generous, outgoing and intelligent friend who had one very devilish sense of humor.
