Lindley, Harold L.
Harold L. Lindley, 90, of Iowa City, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Mercy Iowa City. Private family services will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter where military honors will be rendered.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to your local American Legion post.

Harold Leslie Lindley was born May 22, 1922, in Coin, Iowa, son of George and Mable (Duncan) Lindley. On Aug. 7, 1944, he married Theo Hazard in Iowa City and they had lived in the Iowa City area ever since. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 102nd Infantry Division in Holland and Germany. He made lifelong friends within his unit and had enjoyed those continued friendships at their unit reunions. For the majority of his career he was a professional truck driver. Upon his retirement, he continued driving as a school bus driver in the Iowa City area for another 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and traveling with his family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Theo; and six children, Susan Morris (Bill) of Cedaredge, Colo., Dianne Kinzenbaw of Marengo, Jon Lindley of Honolulu, Hawaii, Dan Lindley (Crystal) of Morgan Hill, Calif., Barb Hotka (Mike) of Broomfield, Colo. and Jeff Lindley (Melanie) of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Ludington of New Mexico and Lois Rist of Washington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City is caring for Harold's family and his services.
