Linderbaum, Mary (Beneker)
Mary (Beneker) Linderbaum passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on April 22, 2010, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Harold McMillin officiating. Interment: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Monona City Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 South First St., Guttenberg.
Mary was born July 1, 1949, to Floyd and Ruth (Campbell) Beneker, in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Mary graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1967 and continued her education at Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis. On Dec. 28, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Dale Linderbaum. From this union two daughters were born, Sarah and Jennifer. For the past 29 years Mary worked at the Allamakee-Clayton Rural Electric Cooperative. Before that she worked at the University of Wisconsin and Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking, gardening, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dale; daughters, Sarah (Mark) Kilburg and Jennifer (Eric) Huinker; grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Kilburg, Kaylee and Allen Huinker; brother, Floyd (Judy) Beneker; sister, Rita (Bill) Sturm; sister-in-law, Nancy (Doug) Drahn; father- and mother-in-law, Lawrence (Evelyn) Linderbaum; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Jenni, and Pastor Harold and Linda McMillin.
