Linda Rae Ahrens, 79, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. In agreement with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Inurnment will be at Monmouth Cemetery in Monmouth, Iowa, at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Linda was born on Feb. 23, 1944, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Aneidra (Sutton) Caraway. On Oct. 11, 1964, Linda was united in marriage to William Henry Ahrens in Monmouth, Iowa. She worked as a secretary for Linn Mar School District for many years. Linda was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion. Linda will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Bill; son, Timothy Ahrens of Marion; grandchildren, Brandon Tomkins and Brody Ahrens; and sister-in-law, Reita Caraway of Warrenton, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tracy Lyn Tomkins; and one brother, Lynn Caraway of Warrenton, Va.
Memorials in Linda’s memory may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
