Linda Sue Needham, 74, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Nov. 18, 2015. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a four-plus-year stay at Heritage Specialty Care. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Services by Pastor Mark Thomas.
Survivors include her children, Deanna Lindo of Cedar Rapids, Phil (Shiela) Howe of Springfield, Mo., Bruce (Nanette) Heckart of Ottumwa and Sarah (Kenny) Smith of Garrison; and her siblings, Robert (Sharon) Parcel of Ottumwa, Susan Hunter of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Mendibles of Ottumwa, Deora (Jim) Olsen of Ottumwa, Bill (Kim) Greene of Prairie City, Joe Greene of Prairie City, June (Terry) Hartson of Prairie City, Donna (John) Knox of Prairie City and Kim Fields. Also surviving are her fiance, Larry Wolfe of Cedar Rapids; stepmother, Edna Greene of Prairie City; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her daughters, Doris Sue Heckart and Rebecca Lynn Heckart; her parents, Edna Scoval and Lawrence Greene; and siblings, Donnie Parcel, Mike Greene and Susan Kain.
Linda was born May 28, 1941, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Edna Mae (Wiseman) Greene. She was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and prayed over her family daily. She was so proud of all of her family and their accomplishments. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo.
A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at Heritage Specialty Care. Linda was grateful for the care that was provided to her. You helped make her stay a pleasant one while she awaited to receive her wings.
