Linda Lea Neitderhisar was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Iowa City, the daughter of George V. and Rita O. (Woods) Neitderhisar. Following graduation from University High School in Iowa City with the class of 1965, she attended St. Luke's School of Nursing. She was devoted to nursing and women's health, with a career spanning over 40 years. In Cedar Rapids, she worked in labor and delivery at both Mercy and St. Luke's hospitals. Before then, she worked as a nurse clinician at the Family Health Center at St. Luke's.
Always an energetic and enthusiastic learner, Linda returned to school to become a women's health nurse practitioner in 1994. Only semi-retired in the last few years, she continued to care for her many patients at OB/GYN Associates in Cedar Rapids.
She had resided in Cedar Rapids for years until moving back to the home farm near Tiffin after her parents' deaths. Linda loved living in her childhood home and sharing memories and stories about life on the farm with her grandchildren.
Her family and friends were everything to her!
Her family includes her two children, Cindy and her husband, Mike Ernst, of Minneapolis and Ryan McAdam of Cedar Rapids; and six grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, Mackenzie, Hunter, Gavin and Tiernan.
