Linda Lou Hughes, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Dec. 28, 2022, at Winslow House Care Center in Marion. Friends and family will be invited for graveside services at Oliphant Cemetery at a later time in the Spring. Brosh Chapel is caring for Linda and her arrangements.
Linda Lou was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Fred and Birdie Oliphant. She worked many different jobs throughout her life including Wayerhouser, Younkers Shoe Department and HyVee on Oakland Road. Linda enjoyed life to its fullest and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent her life devoted to family. Linda was an incredible and adventurous woman who rode Harley motorcycles and dirt bikes. She was a loving mother, sweet grandmother, and devoted great-grandmother who will be missed very much. Linda is now with the Lord, with the rest of her family, watching over all of us.
Linda is survived by her son, Steve (wife Roxanne); her sister, Judy Leidigh; grandchildren, Heather Downing (Jared), Deserae (Brandon), Victor and Austin; great-grandchildren, Caden, Maddox, Jaxxon and Amelia Rose; and many many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones from around the country!
Linda was preceded in death by her mama, daddy, sisters and brothers.
