Linda Jo Lee, 63, of Manchester, chose to go to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, with a Scripture service at 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester, with visitation one hour before Mass at the church. Burial will be at Edgewood Cemetery.
Linda was born Jan. 18, 1953, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Charles E. and Dorothy J. (Whitehead) Seibert. She graduated from West Delaware High School in 1971. On Aug. 30, 1975, Linda was united in marriage to Robert E. Lee at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. Linda attended Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls and earned an associate of arts degree and then enrolled at Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville where she earned a bachelor of science degree in education in 1976.
Linda was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester as well as the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville, Mo., the Catholic Daughters of America and the Eastern Iowa Reading Council. She was a substitute teacher in several surrounding school districts, including West Delaware and St. Mary's Schools, was a volunteer at West Delaware, worked in the nursery at the Presbyterian Church and was active in the American Cancer Society. She will be remembered for working crosswords, writing poems, crocheting, baking, doing crafts, quilting, journaling and especially riding her bike. Her greatest joy in life was her grandson, Dylan, and the many children who touched her heart.
Linda is survived by her husband, Robert; one daughter, Angela Lee (Roger Bladell) of Manchester; one grandson, Dylan Schuldt; her mother, Dorothy Seibert of Independence; four brothers, Mike (Karen) Seibert of Delhi, Jeff (Angie) Seibert, Kevin (Barb) Seibert and Alan (Joyce) Seibert, all of Manchester; three sisters, Diane (Mario) Diaz of Manchester, Joni Seibert of Delaware and Liz (Paul) Heffernen of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Charles Seibert; and one sister, Chris Wolf.
