Linda Lee Landuyt, 71, of Ely, died unexpectedly Friday, July 21, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow at Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely. Friends may visit with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Brosh Chapel.
Linda was born Aug. 6, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Jean Ruth (Randall) Zbanek. She was a lifelong resident of Ely and graduated from Prairie High School in 1963. She has been married to Darold "Fonce" Landuyt for 53 years. Linda held several jobs, including working for Midwest Metals and College Community Schools, eventually retiring from Solon State Bank in 2008. Some of the things Linda enjoyed most were shopping, jewelry making, using her green thumb, traveling, attending her grandchildren's activities, and did we mention shopping?
Linda is survived by her husband; son, Jeff Landuyt of Norwalk; daughter, Jodi (Kevin) James of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Alyssa and Keegan James and Shaffer and Shelby Landuyt; sister, Bonnie Slezak; brother, Randy (Kelly) Zbanek; aunt, Edna Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Allanah Jo James.
Memorials may be directed to the family in lieu of flowers.
