Linda Kay Rogers, 73, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, where a visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Springville Cemetery in Springville.
Linda was born on Dec. 23, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Iven and Madeline (Pollock) Nielsen. She was a 1968 graduate of Springville High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College. Linda worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Luke’s Hospital, Solon Nursing Center, and Hallmark Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After nursing, Linda worked at a hotel for a time and later at Amana Refrigeration. She was a member of the Springville American Legion #331Auxiliary and helped as a longtime historian. Linda enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, and gardening. She was intrigued by Bigfoot, Aliens, and True Crime Mysteries. Linda loved spending time with children, especially her granddaughter, Hailey. She had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Brian (Beth) Rogers of Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.; granddaughter, Hailey Rogers; two sisters, Deb Nielsen and Brenda Nielsen, both of Springville; and her beloved dog, Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Sandy Nielsen.
