Linda Kathleen Scott, 80, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, in Jacksonville, Fla., with her children by her side. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Linda’s name.
Linda was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Washington,
Iowa, the daughter of Richard O. and Jannette (Wade) Scott. She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in May 1961 and went on to obtain her nursing degree from Methodist in Des Moines. She worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Mercy Hospital Iowa City, VA Hospital of Iowa City, St. Luke’s Hospital, Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and nursing homes in Solon and Mechanicsville before retiring in 2007. She resided in Iowa City and North Liberty before moving to Rogers, Ark., in 2017 to live with her daughter, Denise, and then to Jacksonville. She loved her horses and spent as much time as possible with them. She also enjoyed her many cats, knitting, and spending time with her children and grandson.
She will be missed by her son, Dale (Eric) and Lisa Scott of Davenport and daughter, Denise Scott of Jacksonville, Fla. She is also survived by one grandson, Andrew (Drew) of North Liberty; two brothers, Richard (Gene) and Nancy Scott of Wellman and Mike and Alice Scott of Kalona; and one former daughter-in-law, Rebecca (Becky) Kick of North Liberty.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred Scott.
