Linda Jean Thimsen, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. A celebration of life will be held on March 4 at 3003 Cedar River Ct., Cedar Rapids, IA 52411, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Linda is survived by her brother, Harold Murtha (Barb); children, Holly Thimsen and Eric Arp (Brooke); grandchildren, Davion, Daijah, Elle, Brady and Carly; as well as many friends and family.
Linda was born April 23, 1948, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. She graduated from HLV High School in 1966 and attended Kirkwood Community College, residing in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area for the rest of her life. Linda was a medical transcriptionist and established her own company, Happy Hearts Transcription, where she worked until 2011.
Linda was an avid reader and loved Stephen King books. She loved Rock ’n Roll (especially the Rolling Stones), Kevin Costner, baseball, gardening and her family. Linda always had a smile on her face and a "can-do" attitude. She was the sweetest and most loving person you could ever meet, with unimaginable inner strength and independence. She opened her heart to everyone, and if you knew her, you loved her. She will always be missed, but is in our hearts and memories forever.
