Linda Kay (Oakley) Hines, 63, of Cedar Rapids, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital hospice unit following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, by the Rev. Glenn Hunt. Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Linda is survived by her mother, Rose Oakley; her son, Derek (Sharish) Hines; her two brothers, William (Victoria) Oakley and John Oakley; two grand-daughters, Alexis and Sophia Hines; and special friends, Dennis, Barb and Julia. She also will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Oakley; her grandparents; her husband, Roger Hines; and her dog, Jessable.
Linda was born Nov. 19, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, to William and Rose (Bethen) Oakley. She was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother.
A special thanks to St. Luke's CCU and hospice units for their care of Linda.
The family requests no flowers; memorials may be given to St. Luke's Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
